After it has been used for a long time, especially in the situation of continuous operation and overload operation, a wet wipes packing machine is prone to some electrical and mechanical failures, such as infirm sealing, intermittent machine shutdown, blown fuse upon startup, squeak during operation, uncontrollable temperature, sachet seal being out of shape and bent, bubbles or irregular marks at the seal, and more. 

Combined with our experience of the practical operation of the machine, we come up with some failures of the wet wipes packing machine, the causes of them and solutions to them, as well as maintenance and repair problems of the machine.

2. Blown fuse of the machine

The main function of the machine motor is to drive the gearbox and gears of all components. A machine sometimes squeaks upon its startup, influencing the normal running and even causing the fuse on the live wire to be blown. The solution to this failure is to check whether the power supply is normal, cut off the power supply, check whether the switch is damaged with the resistance gear of a multimeter and finally check whether the circuit and the motor are short. 

Normally, the fuse will be blown upon the machine startup when the machine motor is short or the winding is damaged or disconnected. The other factor is the small specification of the fuse that leads to this failure. Increasing its specification can be the solution to this problem.

3. Squeak during operation

Usually, a wet wipes packing machine squeaks suddenly during its running. Or it squeaks due to non-uniform sealing speed. This matter will cause an ugly web pattern of sachet seal and influence products’ appearance and grade. Although it can work normally intermittently, the machine runs mostly abnormally.

This phenomenon arises mostly because of serious damage, wear and tear, and poor lubrication of the wet wipes packing machine. To solve this problem, first, find out the squeaking part. When the squeak comes from the gearbox, remove the protection board at the rear and remove the fastening screws one by one. It can be found that the lubricating grease in the gearbox is dried and solidified and the gears are shiny. It is indicated that a lack of lubricating oil causes this failure. Mix engine oil and lubricating grease of the same brand and add the mixture into the gearbox. Then fasten the screws and install the protection board. Start the machine again. The squeak disappears and the sachets are well sealed.

In addition, if the high-temperature belt has a loose joint, is seriously worn, is not clean, has dirt on the surface, or works asynchronously with the traction wheel, squeaks are also made. The solution is to change the high-temperature belt with the same specification. There are skills for the high-temperature belt change. Compress the spring of the pressure roller with your hands, put one end of the belt on one rubber roller, and place the other end of the belt on the other rubber roller. 

Start the machine to run at low speeds. As the machine starts working, the high-temperature belt can be installed thanks to the movement inertia. Sometimes squeak comes from the DC shunt motor. It might be caused by the oil lack of the motor bearings. In this case, lubricate it again to solve the problem.

4. Uncontrollable sealing temperature

The phenomena of uncontrollable sealing temperature include thermometer display failure, uncontrollable temperature, and inconstant sealing temperature which make the sachet seal either burn or be not firmly sealed and out of shape. The thermometer’s being out of order is the main factor for this failure. It has to be repaired in this case. Besides, the thermal coupling might also be out of order so that it cannot transmit the induced temperature to the thermometer. 

Just replace the thermal coupling with a new one of the same model and specification. A mechanical factor that causes uncontrollable temperature is non-uniform heat sealing pressure. Adjust the compression spring of the heat sealing boards to balance their pressure. Besides, the heat sealing boards’ planes should be clean and dirt-free. In addition, the bad heat sealing quality of the composite film is also influential. When the heat sealing coefficient of the composite film changes, the heat sealing temperature for the composite film also changes.
