New cleaning wet wipes from celluose based material It is learned that a firm, located in Galway, developed a kind of new disinfecting wipes which have the ability to prevent coronavirus from spreading. The firm, founded in 2012 is affiliated to National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG). It developed a cellulose-based material, which can be used to produce wet wipes and face masks. This material can prevent virus from spreading by separate them from other microorganism.
Although the primary goal of the material is for defense, the firm also represented that the wipes made from it can wipe skin and other objects and kill coronavirus effectively. The founder, also a professor of NUIG said that experiments had been carried out to test the wipes’ biographical threat to ricin and anthrax.
During spreading of COVID-19, the firm found that their wipes contained special chemical substances to capture the virus. The product is now in development and might have immeasurable influence on global epidemic control.
Although they are pretty cheap to produce wet wipes, traditional detergents, including bleach and hydrogen peroxide, can influence users’ skin and the environment. The firm founder also says that the products after their biographical purification technology can be used safely even around eyes and are biodegradable. He also indicates that since European Ministry of Defense funded them, the products have been tested in Ireland and Czech Republic. Now everything has been ready.
