Compare to machine packing and manual packing

Package is a necessary link in production and packaging machines play a more and more important role as technology develops. Compared with manual packaging, mechanical packaging has more advantages:

1. Higher production rate: Products can be packaged at a higher speed mechanically than manually. Take wet tissue packing machine as an example: The machine can pack hundreds of wipes per minute, which is an increase by more than 10 times than manual packaging.

2. Better packing quality: Shape, size and specification of products packed by the machine can be identical while they will be irregular when the products are packed manually. Uniformity of products is especially important for exports. Only packed by machine, the products can meet specification standards.

3. More functions than manual packing: Some more functions can be fulfilled by mechanical packaging than manual packaging. For example, vacuum packing, inflation packing, isobaric filling and so on can only be fulfilled by mechanical packaging.

4. Lower labor strength and better working condition: Workers should consume more energy by manual packing, especially when some products are of large bulk and weight. And it’s not safe for these workers. For another thing, some products are pretty light and small. Workers will pack them in higher frequency, which will make them suffer from occupational disease. But this will never be the problem of mechanical packaging.

5. Protection to worker and environment: Some products generate dust or are poisonous, pungent or radioactive. But by mechanical packaging, these harms to workers can be effectively avoided and the environment can be protected since more machines are enclosed and complete equipment is installed to handle these harmful factors.

6. Lower packaging, storing and transporting cost: Some loose products such as cotton, tobacco, silk and hemp, can be compressed by a compressing and packaging machine so that the packaging, storing and transporting cost can be greatly cut.

7. Reliable and safe products: Food and drugs are not allowed to be packed manually to avoid some contamination. Packaging machines, however, can pack these products without labors’ direct contact with the products to guarantee their hygiene and quality.

8. Contribution to industrial development: Packaging machinery is a comprehensive subject, covering material, equipment, technique, electronics, automatic control and some other branches. These branches should develop synchronously and coordinately. Any problem of them might influence the overall performance of the packaging machines. Conversely, development of packing machines can powerfully contribute to progress of these related branches.
