National Pharmaceutical Machinery China International Pharmaceutical Machinery Expo（hereinafter referred to as the “Expo”）is an international large-scale pharmaceutical machinery industry exhibition. This Expo is organized by Beijing Jing Bo Xin Exhibition Co.,Ltd. It has been successfully held 54 times since its establishment in 1991. With the development of 26 years, the Expo has enjoyed extremely high popularity in the pharmaceutical industry and pharmaceutical equipment industry of China. About 80 thousand professional visitors come to visit and purchase equipments, and it also attracts more than one thousand domestic and foreign pharmaceutical equipment manufacturers to visit during each session. At the 54th Expo held in the second half of 2017(the fall 2017), a total of 1196 companies participated in the exhibition. This Expo covers an area of over 130 thousand square meters. During the period, about 60 thousand visitors from 34 countries and regions were received. The exhibition invited senior experts from home and abroad to give more than 30 lectures. According to the plan, the 55th Expo will have an area of about 130 thousand square meters. It is expected that the number of exhibitors and visitors at the Expo will reach a new high.

During the Anti-Japanese War, Chongqing is determined as the wartime capital and permanent capital by the government of the Republic of China. In the early days of the Republic’s establishment, Chongqing was a resident of the Southwest Region and a municipality directly under the Central Government. After the resumption of the establishment of a central municipality on June 18, 1997, the pace of reform and revitalization of the old industrial base in Chongqing was accelerated, forming a hundred billion industrial cluster of electronic information, automobiles, equipment manufacturing, integrated chemical engineering, materials, energy, and consumer goods manufacturing. Modern service industries such as agriculture, rural areas and finance, trade logistics, and service outsourcing have developed rapidly.

Chongqing has a China-Singapore (Chongqing) strategic interconnection demonstration project. It has a state-level new district - Liangjiang New Area,  Chongqing-Xinjiang-Europe International Railway, Chongqing Bonded Port Area, Chongqing Xiyong Comprehensive Bonded Area, Chongqing Railway Bonded Logistics Center, Chongqing Nanpeng Road Bonded Logistics Center, Wanzhou Bonded Logistics Center. It has a vehicle import port, a fruit import port, and a meat import port, which are exempt from visas within 72 hours of transit.

Chongqing is the largest industrial and commercial city in the southwest region and an important national modern manufacturing base. It has 8 national key laboratories, 10 national engineering and technology research centers and 67 colleges and universities. There are strategic projects such as the China (Chongqing) Free Trade Pilot Zone, the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Strategic Interconnection Demonstration Project, the Liangjiang New Area, and the Chongqing-Xinjiang-Europe International Railway.
